Client Questioning Process
Cameran Clark
When i first came to Cameran about producing a game, he was very exited, The first thing i needed to know was what the theme and the genre of the game would be. this would me a good idea of what the game would be like, the cliant asked for a jumunji (stuck in a video game) premise set in an 80's video game with strategy elements.
the second most important thing i needed to know was what kind of music and what kind of sound effects i should use. this is really important because the music is what sets the mood in games like these and can really make or break the game. he asked for a techno soundtrack with Super Mario Bros style sound sound effects.
last thing i needed to ask him was what the target demographic was, i need to know this for the sprite design and the story writing, i also need to know what the name of the game should be. the target demographic ended up being preteen boys and the name he decided upon was 'Burketroids Extrodinary Adventure'
Proposal
Game Name Here
Plot: Eduardo Burketroid is just your average pre-teen with a strange obsession with the 80s living in a boring and formulaic life when one day he stumbles across an old run down game console in his local thrift store and by some strange magic is transported into a strange 8-bit land named “Nomad City” and is task with defeating the evil ‘Void’ who holds the key back to reality.
Mechanics: The game will feature final fantasy style strategy based combat with an original Legend of Zelda style hub world.
Sounds & Music: The game will feature sound effects in the style of classic 8bit & 16bit titles such as super Mario bros and Contra to keep that 80s appeal. The game will also feature a fast paced retrowave and synthwave sound track. see below for examples:

Cliant Response: I am loving the plot for the game thus far and also happy with it being the 'final fantasy' style of combat. Having a 'legend of zelda style hub world' is not what I originally imagined but I do believe that is an improvement so I am excited to see how that turns out. The boss battle theme music sounds a little dull in my opinion and would like it to be a little more 'epic'. Other than that I am very happy with the proposal and look forward to seeing it come to life.
