This assignment I had to find a client who then had to come up with game ideas for me then to make a game. My client has a clothing business so he wanted me to make at a game about a clothing business. So I thought of a manufacturing factory and an obstacle coarse going through machines to collect the shirts and organise the shirts by colour. I then thought about getting into the factory by going through a maze.
These are two of my questions that really helped out when trying to make this game. My first question was what was your business and what do you do, this is me kind of figuring out what the game is going to be about. The client responded with a clothing business, I design, make and sell clothes such as shorts, shirts, socks and other accessories. My second question is what do you want the purpose of the game to be. Again this is me trying to get an idea of the game the client wants. His response to that question was collect and sort out all the shirts. This response really helped out as it basically gave me the game because I was think an obstacle type game
Some of the responses kind of helped me a bit but not too much such as, sound effects. The responses to this question was quite obvious. The client responded with a ding sound when in the right box and a wrong sound when in the wrong box. This response didn’t really help out as I was already adding those in so they game doesn’t sound so boring. This is just one question and response that didn’t really help but kind of did help in a way just to be certain of what the client wants.
There were a couple questions that didn’t really help. One being what is your target audience. The response of this question was youth. This wasn’t helpful as it wasn’t really specific. Another question that didn’t help was what the objective of the game was. This was my fault as I had already ask what the purpose of the game was and I go the same response as what was the purpose of the game.
Thinking of having all types of clothes scattered down the bottom of the screen and a bunch of boxes up the top of the screen. You then have to go through obstacles to get to the clothes then go back through the obstacles to put the coloured clothing items into the right coloured box. Such as a red shirt into and red box. The response to this was good. My client likes the idea and design of the game.
Use the blue shirt so the images contrast a bit! This is nowhere near long enough yet, and needs to be split into paragraphs, etc.
You’ll need to tweak sizes and images here. I don’t really understand the green images (and I don’t think typical players will either), so change them to something else. You could also animate them (moving back and forth, for example) to make it harder to play. Design-wise the whole game needs work. I don’t understand the second level yet!
